Callout – 4 March 2025
Exmoor Search and Rescue Team, having been out the previous night searching for a missing person in Membury, Blackdown Hills but unfortunately with no success, called NDSART and DSRT—Ashburton at 08:10 to support with the continuing search.
Search dog teams and team members were deployed from Membury Village Hall to search the surrounding fields and woodlands with members from all three Mountain Rescue Teams, Devon and Cornwall Police, Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service – Urban Search and Rescue and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England.
The multiple search teams covered a wide area, with an eventual find by search dog Jack and their team in the late afternoon.
Sadly, it was not a happy outcome and our thoughts go out to the missing person’s family and friends.
