The team was called by Devon & Cornwall Police to locate a lost walker on Dartmoor near Quintin’s Man area. The lost walker’s location was found using phone tracking technology, and the lost walker was instructed to stay in their location.

Team members were deployed from Sandpits in Team Land Rovers to Hangingstone Hill turning circle, from here, team members continued by foot over Whitehorse Hill to Quintin’s Man.

The lost walker was located just after 22:00. A team’s Remote Rescue Medical Technician assessed the individual for injuries and welfare. The individual had no injuries and had been sheltered behind the hut, with plenty of food and water, but did require a change of clothing as their current waterproof jacket and trousers had wetted out in the heavy rain and high winds.

Replacement warm clothing and new waterproofs were provided, after which Team Members escorted the walker back to awaiting Land Rovers at Hangingstone Hill turning circle and returned to Control at Sandpits.

The team was stood down at 23:40.
