New team Land Rover in 2025

At the end of May 2025, North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team took delivery of something very exciting!
A 2013 Land Rover Defender 110 was purchased from Hampshire Search and Rescue, who wished to keep the Land Rover within Search and Rescue.
Our Chair went and collected the vehicle this week, and now the fun begins of modifying the Land Rover to meet our needs and tackle the rugged terrain of Dartmoor. A big thank you to Hampshire Search and Rescue for your support!
We have purchased a new Land Rover, because one of our existing Land Rovers is 32 years-old; Dart 51 is road safe and has low mileage, at 41,000 on the clock. But is becoming unreliable for our Search and Rescue operations.
Thank you to everyone who has donated towards our cause this year and helped us to purchase the new Land Rover. Our aim is to have the new Land Rover in operational service later this year. Dart 51 or Ada as she was named after the lady who purchased the vehicle for a Lake District MR Team, is the oldest Land Rover in operation within Mountain Rescue England and Wales (‘MREW’) and has been involved with MREW all of her life!

At the grand age of 32, her age is beginning to show. North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (“NDSART”) has owned Dart 51 for 20 years, and it is time to retire the ageing Land Rover and replace it with something newer. This will help NDSART for years to come and make the team more reliant, faster deployment, and futureproof the team.

If you’re interested in purchasing a unique piece of history. The 32-year-old Land Rover, Ada (Dart 51) is for sale. If sold to a Collector or Museum, the Mountain Rescue livery will remain on and blue lens will be removed and left on the back seat for legal sale.
