NDSART were called by Devon & Cornwall Police at 16:08 to rescue an individual trapped in a bog in a remote area of Dartmoor.

Team Members convened at the Fox and Hounds Hotel & Restaurant. Our Search Managers spoke with the individual to get an accurate location and understand if there were any injuries.

The casualty reported back they were near Steng-a-Tor and had no injuries. Shortly after the initial call, the individual’s phone ran out of battery.

With an accurate location, Team Members travelled via Land Rovers up to the Rattlebrook railway track near Great Links Tor. Two foot teams went via Hunt Tor and Kitty Tor to meet the casualty.

Dart 11 who travelled via Kitty Tor, located the casualty at 17:50 and supported them out of the surrounding boggy ground, before an assessment and returning to Kitty Tor to meet Dart 12 who supported them back out to Rattlebrook track to meet the awaiting Land Rovers.

All Team Members and the casualty returned to Control at The Fox and Hounds.

The team was stood down at 18:06 for those not on scene already. Thank you to the Fox and Hounds Hotel & Restaurant for the use of their car park and facilities.
