Call out incident 21- 7th June
We were called at 17:10 to search for a pair of dog walkers disoriented in Lydford Woods. We were unable to contact them by mobile phone as their battery was very low when calling 999.
As the first team members arrived we learned that the Police helicopter had located the pair, so team members accompanied the Police to meet them, followed by Land Rover 53.
The walkers were uninjured and in good spirits and returned to the car park in a team vehicle. The team were stood down at 18:03. A quick, successful outcome.
Thanks to North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team for sending their control vehicle, as ours was at the garage today, in case it turned into a long search. Thanks also to Devon & Cornwall 4×4 Response for mobilising 2 vehicles so we could transport teams quickly to the bottom of the woods. Team work at its best
