Callout – 18 November 2024
The Team was called by Devon & Cornwall Police at 14:20 to search for two missing people who were out dog walking around Brat Tor and Great Links Tor area.
Team members gathered at The Fox & Hounds Hotel & Restaurant to deploy across Dartmoor and locate the missing group. The family members had become disorientated and lost in the mist and low light.
Our Search Managers were in direct contact with a member of the group, who described the area they were around, using features such as River Left, tracks to right and a Tor/Hill to the right. This enabled the Search Managers to direct Hill Parties on the ground using local knowledge and description provided to locate the missing group and bring them back to safety out of the mist and rain up on the Moor.
The Team was stood down at 15:52.
