North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team were called at 15:03 by South Western Ambulance Service Trust to an injured individual unable to move below Steeperton Tor in the gorge.
Team Members were deployed from the Belstone Village car park, with members from HART heading to the known location using our Team’s Land Rover to transport them out into Taw Marsh and walk the remaining distance on foot. The casualty was located by two of our team, as they were already out near Belstone before the callout.
After an assessment and the arrival of further team members, the casualty was able to walk and bear weight and walked back with the aid of a walking pole. The casualty and the joint hill party evacuated to Belstone to meet an awaiting Ambulance.
The team was stood down at 16:55.
