TERMS AND CONDITIONS – North Moor Endure by NDSART

EVENT rules and guidelines

The following event rules and guidelines are intended to help ensure the safety of all participants, to meet the requirements of Dartmoor National Park Authority and local Authority permits, and event liability.

Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (“NDSART”) retains the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their entry form, not making the required payment or otherwise failing to meet the stated entry requirements.

Participant Safety

Each participant must agree to the disclaimer and Terms and Conditions before participating in the event.

All participants take part at their own risk and a disclaimer waiving all claims against NDSART and any party acting on its behalf must be completed by all entrants.

Participants must carry the mandatory kit list (see website for kit list). No kit, no start. There may be spot checks on the course to enforce this principle. The Race Director’s decision is final.

Participants’ race numbers are specific personal identifiers and may not be exchanged with, transferred or sold to any other person.

Please do not enter the event unless you agree to the terms and conditions below.

All entry fees are non-refundable, however name changes/transfers are allowed. This can only be done online through the SiEntries systems within the deadline (6th June 2026), which is strictly 14 days prior to the event, and participants must notify North Moor Endure (NDSART) via email in advance of doing this.

Each entrant must have their own account with SiEntries to enter an event. North Moor Endure (NDSART) does not accept postal entries.

An email address is required for all entries, and all race-day correspondence will be sent via email.

A separate email address for each participant is required.
To register for North Moor Endure by NDSART, you must be at least 18 years of age on race day.

Registrants must be capable of completing at a minimum the full distance of a single junior loop (20km) within the event cutoff time required (6 hours). The event is challenging and includes off-road sections, and the responsibility falls to you to be prepared for the event you are undertaking.

All participants must provide their full name and details of any health problems, allergies or medication upon entry. It is up to individuals to bring their own supply of personal medication.

All participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during their participation to be used to publicise North Moor Endure by NDSART event through multiple media channels.

The registration closure date is set and announced when an event opens for entry. However, if the race event is full prior to this date, the registration process will automatically close. There will be a wait list made available.

Competitor Withdrawal Policyholder – All entry fees are non-refundable; however, name changes/transfers are allowed up to a fortnight before race-day, online via the online SiEntries system. Participants must inform North Moor Endure of withdrawal from the race and whether changing names or not to allow for those on the wait list a place.

Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, NDSART regrets that we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where our contractual obligations are prevented or affected by, or otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of force majeure. In our terms and conditions, ‘force majeure’ means any event which we, or the supplier of the service(s), could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include (whether actual or threatened) war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, technical problems, with transport, closures of airports, ports or airspace, changes of schedules by airlines, adverse weather conditions, epidemics, health risks and pandemics, fire, closed or congested airports or ports or similar events outside our control or the control of our suppliers.

Raceday

All participants must check for updates and changes to the Terms and Conditions on a regular basis, including one month and a week prior to the event date. Any changes will be emailed to registered participants.

Every participant shall be provided with an event race number, which shall be displayed, for the duration of the event, on the front of the bicycle.

Participants must follow instructions as given from event officials, including race staff, volunteers, medical staff, etc., throughout the duration of the event. All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner during the event. Any participant who refuses to obey the directions of the event official or course marshal or who conducts himself/herself in an unsportsmanlike manner, or who is offensive by action or language to officials, volunteers, participants or spectators may be disqualified from the event and banned from future participation in any NDSART event at the discretion of the Race Directors.

North Moor Endure event must be completed within the required time limit set (6 hours). Any lap completed outside of this time limit will not count towards the final tally. The participant with the most number of laps completed in the fastest time within the given 6 hours will be considered the overall winner.

All participants must acknowledge and agree that personal information (including medical information collected by event medical staff during or after the event) can be stored, used and disclosed by NDSART in connection with the organisation, promotion and administration of the event and for the compilation of statistical information.

North Moor Endure is a cycling event, and any other wheeled device, such as baby buggies, rollerblades, etc., will not be permitted on the course. Please note that due to the terrain of our cycling race, they are unsuitable for recumbent bicycles.

No dogs are allowed to accompany participants on the course.

Any person who participates in the event without a current official event race number or timing device, or a race number or chip not officially assigned to him/her is subject to removal and disqualification from any future NDSART event. Any participant who has been found by a course marshal, event official, or surveillance equipment to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the race (“cutting the course”) shall be immediately disqualified from the event and banned from any future NDSART event at the discretion of the Race Directors.

No persons are authorised to be on the course unless they are registered participants. Therefore, no person shall be allowed to accompany a participant if they are not registered in the event, nor shall any participant be allowed, without the permission of the event management, to receive assistance or refreshment from anyone during the progress of the event apart from at the official aid station where this is allowed. Any person not properly displaying an authorised and issued race number shall be directed to leave the course.

A hands-on medical examination during the progress of an event by officially designated medical personnel shall not be considered assistance and will not result in disqualification if the participant is deemed medically fit. If a participant becomes ill during or after the event and/or receives medical attention or treatment either from event medical staff, first aid team or any doctor or hospital, they must authorise such persons to provide details (including details of medical treatment) to the medical officer of the North Moor Endure (NDSART) event or others authorised by him/herself.

Safety

Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage and symbols relating to participant maps, facilities and direction.

North Moor Endure event follows British Cycling rules and therefore MP3 players or other devices plugged into the ear are not advised for reasons of Health and Safety for both you and other competitors. We strongly advise against the wearing of these devices. When you wear such a device, you are unable to hear other competitors, other path users, cars, bicycles or marshals’ instructions. At road sections, the devices must be unplugged or risk disqualification from the race.

Medical personnel authorised by the event may examine any participant who appears in distress. If, in the sole opinion of authorised medical personnel, it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare, medical personnel may remove the participant from the event. Participants must retire from the race at once if ordered to do so by a member of the event’s official staff, official medical staff, or any governmental authority, including fire and police officers.

Participants are responsible and assume liability for any and all medical expenses incurred as a result of training for and/or participation in the event, including but not limited to ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods/services.

Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel or suspend the race due to inclement weather in accordance with emergency protocol on severe emergencies and/or inclement weather. No refund will be issued in these circumstances. This includes transportation to the event, including coaches, trains or ferries, and/or accommodation or hospitality arrangements made in relation to the changes/cancellation of the event.

Results

All participants are assigned a chip timing device. Participants must wear their assigned timing device continuously (including when taking a rest) from the start line to the final lap finish line to receive an accurate lap/finish time. Participants with missing timing device times at official checkpoints will be reviewed and may be disqualified.

Official times for mass participants will be the electronic timing device time (chip time) from when the participant crosses the start line to the point where the participant crosses the finish line.

Participants found to be wearing more than one timing chip during the race will be disqualified, and their results will not be recorded.

Participants must begin the event during the official recognised starting time in order to register an official course completion time

A full list of results will be published online, on the North Moor Endure by NDSART website, within 48 hours.

SiEntries Event Disclaimer

“I accept the following Terms for my entry. I also accept on behalf of any participants I am entering in this event, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these Terms and accept them.’

“Whilst not a sanctioned event, the Participant will abide by British Cycling Full Handbook and will ride at their own risk. In doing so, they accept that neither the sponsors, Organisers (NDSART) to their helpers will become liable for any injury, loss, action or claim, however occasioned, resulting from this event”

Amendments/Modifications

Event officials reserve the right, to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules.Participants shall be bound by any modification or supplement of the event rules published prior to the event. Failure to follow these event rules, as may be amended, will result in immediate disqualification and removal from official results.

North Moor Endure by NDSART follow, and participants are subject to, the rules specified by the UK British Cycling. Please visit https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/ for additional information concerning the rules mandated by the governing body for the sport.

CAMPING rules and guidelines

No dogs allowed on Okehampton Army Camp premises.

ABSOLUTELY NO FIRES/open flame allowed anywhere within Okehampton Army Camp or anywhere on the route. Gas stoves used safely for participants to heat their own food/water will be allowed on Okehampton Army Camp only, not on the race route.

All participants and supporters are asked to observe and comply with safety advice, site signage and ‘No Smoking’ areas. In accordance with Smoke-Free Regulations, the tented areas and other areas of the event are designated ‘No Smoking’ areas. No smoking is permitted in enclosed spaces.

North Moor Endure is an outdoor event. Participants and supporters of participants must bring suitable clothing, footwear and overnight gear as advised in the kit list. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather. Campers should pitch tents in designated camping areas, and campervans must park in the designated van areas only, remain where they are placed by marshals for the duration with a tag displayed on their tent/in van window, and stay out of fire lanes and other working areas. Failure to display the camping tag as requested may result in ejection from the event, without later claim or compensation.

The (NDSART) will not accept responsibility for any damage or loss (including theft) of any personal property or equipment which you bring to the event.

All participants and participant supporters must consent to a security search of bags and any other items if deemed necessary.

Prohibited items or any items that the organisers (NDSART) deem to be a risk to safety, enjoyment of others or security, or are not suitable to be taken to the event or may be used in an illegal or offensive manner (regardless of whether or not the item itself is illegal) are not allowed. Participants and supporters may be ejected if found in possession of prohibited items inside the Okehampton Army Camp site or on Dartmoor National Park grounds. No refunds will be offered to those who are refused entry or ejected from the site at the discretion of the organiser (NDSART).

Prohibited items (not allowed on site, or above the site) include but are not limited to:

  • Drones
  • Large stereo systems
  • Illegal substances
  • Portable laser equipment and pens
  • Air Horns
  • Fireworks, flares or Chinese Lanterns
  • Any item which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon
