North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team were called at 16:55 by South Western Ambulance Service Trust to locate and extract two people from a remote area on Dartmoor, one of which reported having chest pain and difficulties breathing.
Team members were deployed from Anthony Stile via Land Rovers with defibrillators to the known location along the Red-a-ven Brook.
The first Hill Party located both individuals and began their assessment of the person with the reported chest pains.
Following a detailed primary survey, the patient was able to be reassured and given fluids. A second Hill Party accompanied the site to help support the extraction of the two out of the valley.
The casualty and accompanying friend were supported on foot by the team members before being transferred to the Team Land Rovers to return to Control, where the Team Doctor conducted a second assessment and they were taken back to their parked vehicle.
The Team on site was stood down at 19:10.
