At 13:06, NDSART were called to assist South Western Ambulance Service Trust – HART with a fallen horse rider in a remote location around Hound Tor.

After some searching around the reported location and was unable to locate the fallen rider. Following further clarification from a member of the rider’s family, who had been in contact with the Team helped locate the fallen casualty.
The team were able to assess the condition of the rider, which was deemed serious and a request for an air ambulance to extract the casualty.

The casualty was airlifted by HEMS to Derriford hospital and the team was stood down at 16:49.
