Callout – 4 February 2025
North Dartmoor Search and Rescue team and Exmoor Search & Rescue Team were called at 19:45 to support Devon & Cornwall Police and NPAS in North Devon to search for a missing person.
Team members were deployed to search the local woodlands and field systems over the course of the night.
After several hours of searching, both teams were stood down at 1 am and Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Tavistock took over the search until sunrise (7 am).
With no luck in locating the missing person during the night, Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Ashburton and Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Plymouth were both called to aid in the search with several Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England search dogs to repeat searches in woodland areas during daylight.
The missing person was located safe and well around 10 am on Wednesday morning by a member of the public.
All teams were stood down at 10:35.
A successful outcome in a multi agency search.
